Even though we are a hot yoga studio and we have a physical location that we’d love for you to come visit, we want you to know that you can do yoga at home. The hot part of it might be a little bit difficult to recreate, but you don’t have to do hot yoga to get in a good workout. Before we move on to talking about if you can do yoga at home, we just want to state that yes is the absolute answer, you can do yoga at home.

If you would like to recreate the hot yoga environment or feel at home, you can get a little creative and pull that off too. To create a hot yoga environment or room at home, you can throw on a pair of long pants and long sleeves and try to find the smallest room in your house. Some of our students and Community have told us that they use either their bathroom, walk-in closet, or laundry room. And the reason you want to choose a small room is so that you can get a personal space heater set up in there and use the personal space heater to heat up the room instead of cranking the heat in the entire house. One last trick to doing this is to close the door of your small space and turn the heater on 30 minutes prior to class so that it will begin heating up the room. Of course if you do this make sure that you are nearby so that if anything goes wrong with the heater you’re there to take care of it right away.

So now let’s talk about ways that you can do yoga at home. The two best options for doing Oconomowoc yoga at home is to attend one of our live online classes or to simply go to our YouTube channel and follow along with the videos that we have there. If you’re interested in joining our Live yoga classes online, that’s awesome! Some of the great things about joining the live yoga classes is that you don’t have to have your camera on so nobody can see you if you don’t want them to. You can wear whatever you want, so you don’t have to worry about finding the perfect outfit, a matching outfit, or anything like that just to do yoga. You can check out our class schedule on our website and simply register online. If you are attending a class online with us, we recommended that you join class about 10 minutes before the class starts, just in case if there are any technical issues. Also, coming early to the live online class help give you some time to settle into your mat, and maybe do some light stretching before we begin our Oconomowoc yoga class and work out.

For some reason many people think that in order to do yoga you have to be super flexible. Well, we’re here to tell you that that is not the case at all. Increasing flexibility is a great goal to have while you’re progressing through your yoga journey, but being flexible is not a prerequisite to starting yoga or taking an Oconomowoc yoga class at Sweat Shop Hot Yoga Studio. At Sweat Shop Hot Yoga, our classes are designed to be appropriate for all levels. So there is no need to worry about or trying to make sure that you’re in the right level class and you don’t have to worry about feeling like or worrying about if you’re good enough to take a certain class.

All of our classes are designed to be appropriate for all levels. All of our Oconomowoc yoga classes and our instructors are experts at making sure that the classes and poses within the classes are accessible to students of all levels. This means that at our hot yoga classes, our teachers will walk you through the poses, step by step. The teacher will give you verbal cues and even physical demonstrations so that you can understand the poses that the class is doing together. In addition to verbally cuing the class through the entire workout, most poses in yoga have three different levels, or versions and modifications. When we teach our yoga classes, our teachers will tell the class the different levels or stages of the pose. Typically the poses that are challenging have different levels including a beginner, intermediate and advanced level. So, our teacher will talk through and even demonstrate these different levels of poses and the student can decide which level they would like to try. This is also a great way that students can progress and grow in their yoga practice is by starting with the beginner level of the pose and then with time working their way up to the intermediate level pose or even the advanced or full expression of the pose.

One other thing to keep in mind with Oconomowoc yoga is that we all started somewhere. So I’m sure we’ve all heard the saying that a journey of a Thousand Miles begins with a single step, or something along those lines. Yoga is no different. We all start somewhere and we were all beginners at one time. And if it gives you any sense of comfort, there’s plenty of people who have been practicing yoga for years and are still at all different levels. So just because you’ve been practicing yoga for two years, five years, 10 years or more doesn’t mean that person is going to be the best at yoga in the room or the most flexible person either. The great thing about yoga and life in general is that we are all unique Individuals and we are all at different levels. And there is no shame in being a beginner. What matters most is that you show up for yourself and make an effort.
