Many of our students and those who are interested in pursuing and starting to practice yoga or practicing hot yoga and Oconomowoc yoga sometimes ask us when should I start seeing results? This is a great question and one that we absolutely do not blame people for asking. This is a beautiful friendship for everyone. Also, other factors in your daily life, mainly what you are eating, will help influence the results. You’ll see from yoga and how quickly you’ll see the results from practicing Oconomowoc yoga.

For anybody who is practicing Hot Yoga one of our biggest recommendations is to make sure that you are staying hydrated by drinking water before class, during class and after class. Making sure that you are properly hydrating your body not only will help you to feel more refreshed, but it will also help improve your skin by reducing breakouts and will also help you recover more quickly from your yoga practice or any other type of physical workout that you are doing.

In addition to making sure that you’re staying hydrated we recommend that on top of staying hydrated with water that our students have an electrolyte drink after their hot yoga practice to help replenish some of the electrolytes that they have lost through sweating. Whether you decide to practice Hot Yoga in the morning or in the afternoon, making sure that your body is balanced by having enough electrolytes will help make sure that you have enough energy to go about all of the things in your day that you would like to.

Another recommendation that we give all of our students is to eat nutrient-dense food. So we don’t necessarily like to classify food healthy or unhealthy, but the key is to eat nutrient-dense and whole foods such as fruits, vegetables and meats. These types of foods are nutrient-dense so they’re not only providing your body with the proper nutrients that your body needs, but they also help make sure that you’re not eating too much-processed food which doesn’t help you feel full. One thing we always say is that life is all about balance. So remember that no weight or body shape is worth starving yourself over. We completely believe in the 80/20 rule. This means that 80% of the food that you’re eating should be nutrient-dense while the other 20% of your food can be treats like ice cream, chips, or whatever other snacks that you enjoy eating.

So, to answer the initial question of when will I start to see the physical benefits of yoga, the answer is completely dependent on the individual. Some of the benefits you will start to notice immediately while the other benefits such as improving balance eating and healthy weight loss are things that all take time and other factors in your personal life such as what you’re eating and drinking heavily influence your results.
